International Students

Although International students are required to pay higher fees than Canadian citizens and permanent residents, there is partial compensation in place.  Students entering the Communication and Media program receive back from the Department, 65% of the difference between Canadian fees and International Fees.  This is referred to as the “Visa Differential”.  This is the case for both MA and PhD students. 

International students also receive a scholarship award from the Department based on their thesis proposal submissions once in the program.  This scholarship is $2,500 for MAs and $5,000 for PhDs for each academic year, September to April.
