CUSP 605 - Approaches to Development Theory and Praxis - Fall 2008

This course provides critical insights into the historical processes of development within a global context, competing theoretical and methodological paradigms for evaluating those processes, and their implications for the praxis of development in both the Global North and South. Issues to be covered in the course include social movements, human rights and social justice; gender; international political economy, particularly global trade regimes; environment and development; development communication and knowledge transfer; their intersections and impacts on sustainable human communities.
This course may not be repeated for credit.
