and Writer based in Toronto. His talk traces a personal history

of super 8 and 8mm production, distribution, and exhibition in

Canada, beginning in Toronto in the 1960s with artists like

Michael Snow and Joyce Wieland.

CMF PhD Candidate AnneMarie Dorland to Present at SSHRC Storytellers Contest 2017

AnneMarie Dorland, PhD candidate in the Communication and Media Studies program in the Department of Communication, Media and Film is a finalist in the SSHRC Storytellers contest to be held during the 2017 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences at Ryerson at the end of May. AnneMarie was also recently honored as an outstanding TA in the University of Calgary Teaching Excellence Awards. Her dissertation examines what designers creative processes can offer to people in other industries.

Department of Communication, Media and Film Study Abroad Award– Applications Due February 15th

CMF is excited to announce the Department of Communication, Media and Film Study Abroad Award!

Students in any of the Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies, and Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies, Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies, or Bachelor of Film Studies programs who have been accepted into a travel study program are eligible for the award. The candidate must be, at minimum, in a second year standing in their respective program.
